Non-Compliant Systems

What is a Non-compliant distribution system?

DSTV will expand their product offering soon. By using the High Band. Available bandwidth will increase. One cable distribution, two cable distribution and three cable distribution systems, is most commonly used. These systems only provides for the low band. If you have one of these Satellite distribution system. The system will most probably need an upgrade. Because of this expansion, some DSTV services could be lost. This is due to decoders not being able to access the high band. Finally if you need assistance, to become high band compliant. Give us a Call Today.

One Cable Distribution System

Transponder modulation is used, by a one cable system. As a result of this technique, transponders are moved between different user bands. Since no switching is necessary. Only a single cable is needed for the reticulation.

What is a transponder?

Transponder carries a digital data stream, on a single frequency. Keeping satellite distribution in mind, a transponder holds TV or audio channels.

One Cable Distribution Headend

To move transponders around between user bands. a One Cable headend is used . Furthermore the headend consists of modulators. One for each frequency that needs to be moved. In addition the headend includes, a wideband amplifier to strengthen the signal.

One Cable Distribution

First of all, what is the main advantage of a one cable distribution system? The ability to move active transponders to a single user band. As a result the reticulation can be done using a single cable. Furthermore only a single cable can be used, throughout an entire apartment building.

Finally the advantage of this system. Is definitely the cost. Due to the ease of installation. There is a vast saving, since no multiswitches are needed.

Disadvantages

In conclusion, the main reason for using 4 user bands. It is to increase limited bandwidth. a One cable distribution system only uses one user band. Therefore a one cable system, will not be able to, accommodate the new DStv expansion. An upgrade is needed. Call us now.

Two Cable Distribution System

First of all, what is a two cable distribution system? Well the two cables refers to, the cabling between multiswitches. Since only two cables are used. Two cables have to support, the entire bandwidth of the system.

What is a multiswitch?

To distribute satellite signal. a Multiswitch is used to connect decoders to the system. Enabling the decoders to switch between available user bands. Decoders will only be able to switch between user bands, supported by the system.

Two Cable Distribution

Due to the system only having two cables. Just 2 user bands are supported. Horizontal low and vertical low is therefore, the only supported user bands. In addition the system ads terrestrial Radio Frequency, to one of the 2 cables. Aerial and satellite signal is then separated. By a wall socket, in the unit. a Wall socket is also called an outlet.

Disadvantage

Due to the two cable distribution system, not making provision for the high band. DStv expansion can not be supported. This system is not high band compliant.

Three Cable Distribution

First of all, what is a three cable distribution system? Three cable, refers to the cabling between multiswitches. By only using three cables. The bandwidth is limited, to the capacity of the 3 cables.

What is a multiswitch?

To distribute satellite signal. a Multiswitch is used to connect decoders to the system. Enabling the decoders to switch between available user bands. Decoders will only be able to switch between user bands, supported by the system.

Three Cable Distribution

Due to the system having three distribution cables. Only 2 user bands are provided for. Just horizontal low and vertical low, is therefore supported. The third cable is used for terrestrial signals. Aerial and satellite signal is then separated. By a wall socket in the unit. a Wall socket is also called an outlet.

Disadvantage

Due to the Three cable distribution system, not making provision for the high band. DStv expansion can not be supported. This system is not high band ready.
